How Creativity is important?           It makes life extremely interesting and rewarding. Creativity is a way of living life that holds originality and makes unique connections between apparently and unlike ideas. The most creative people find ways around obstacles because they see them not just as barriers but also as opportunities.

Creativity and Literary Nonfiction Teaching:        It combines the limits between literary art and research nonfiction. It is writing something about real happening and events, that employs the same literary devices as fiction such as setting, voice/tone, character development, etc. It also only works if the story is based in truth, an accurate retelling of the author's life experiences.

Importance of Teaching Nonfiction:           Non-fiction explains the reality you get to know real people and their lives. It informs one with a specific idea of subjectivity. It also gives knowledge in a specific subject which helps in learning new things. It also supports facts. One reason reading nonfiction may be so important is that it helps students develop their background knowledge, which itself accounts for the variance in student achievements in their life.

Importance of Teaching Nonfiction at Early Grades:       Informational text provides new knowledge, supports the development of new concepts, and enables readers to develop more diverse reading comprehension strategies. It allows students to develop refined comprehension skills, build critical content knowledge and vocabulary, and apply high-quality thinking and skills. Challenging informational text may require support and teaching new reading strategies so students can access the text. Informational text is a subset of the larger category of nonfiction. Its primary purpose is to inform the reader about the natural or social world. Teaching nonfiction progresses in early grade, and readers more frequently face the contents of textbooks as well as informational passages on tests. Covering more informational text in early schooling puts them in a better position to handle later reading and writing demands. Informational text is a type of nonfiction that conveys information about the natural or social world. It is learned that students who are exposed to this genre early on, provide great benefits for young readers. Some reasons/ benefits to teaching nonfiction at early grades are as under:-

  • As students in the early grade, readers more frequently face textbooks as well as informational passages on tests. Including more informational text in early schooling puts them in a better position to handle later reading and writing demands. Preferably, all students would read to learn and learn to read from the earliest days of school and throughout their school careers.
  • Nonfiction text is universal. It builds confidence in students. To prepare students for this world, parents need to be serious about teaching them to read and write informational text.
  • It emphasizing reading for the purpose of addressing students' real questions tend to lead to higher achievement and motivation
  • Reading and listening to informational text can develop students' knowledge about the world, and the acquisition of this background knowledge can help readers comprehend subsequent texts. Overall, the more background knowledge readers have, the stronger their comprehension skills.

Parents and teachers focus more on vocabulary and literacy concepts when reading informational text audibly versus when they read narrative text. This extra attention from parents and teachers may make informational text particularly well-suited for building students.
