It is interesting to describe whether literature shows the political spirit of the time. Man is a social animal this is a saying of Greek great classical master Aristotle who was not only a scholar but also a social scientist. Being a social animal a person has to involve in social life and interact with people with whom he lives. This social life has its peculiar nature where it has its blessing and miseries. This kind of life produces varieties of conflicts and thus politics at veracious levels occur.Does literature reflect the political spirit of the time.

The whole politics in the society form its beauty and intellectuals in the society feel this in his point of view. People gather and discuss the issues of the society and give their opinion a discipline and organization in the society follows. This whole process generates different stories and these stories are exhibited by the literary figure of the time. Thus, it is proven that the stories of the time displayed by the literary figures describe the circumstances of the society, these contain different issues of the society including the politic of the society.

Away from ancient times, literature is produced by academics, in the form of different genres of literature, this includes poetry, dramas, prose, and nonfiction writings. All these genres of literature contributed a huge influence on the politics/ issues of society.

Pakistan came into being on 14 August 1947, itself a creation of social, literary, and political movements. A lot of literary political and social figures have contributed to it. Poetry of Allama Iqbal speeches of Quaid-e-Azam and other great Muslim leaders of this movement donated in it. Even after taking independence, we observe that different literary figures challenged the wrongdoing of different rulers, although they paid a huge price for it. Habib Jalib, Ahmed Faraz and Faiz Ahmed Faiz are among them.

Keeping in view the history of English literature we perceive different ages of it, for example, the after medieval age we see Chaucer and then the Renaissance era when it began to raise the question and blind following was more there. Augustan, Milton, Restoration, and Neoclassical age have a great political existence in them. In the Romantic age, we observe that the literature produced challenged the traditions of the era and display a revolt against the set pattern. The victorian age was the age of social reforms and economic prosperity and the nature of literature is supportive of changing circumstances. Where it supports the middle class and creates awareness among the masses and they become able to achieve their political writing. In the modern age and postmodern age, Colonial and post-colonial eras are the ages of awareness and achieving the social, economic, and political write nations in the whole world stand against the suppression of foreign masters. Literary figures of each nation played a key role in achieving their independence.

Thus, it is quite obvious that the literature of a nation plays a key role in the reformation of the politics of the time.
